  • The Blizzard Battle.net desktop app shows 'Game is Running' but World of Warcraft doesn't launch. World of Warcraft window does not show after clicking play. To fix any incompatibilities causing this problem, try the following steps.
  • I tried scan and repair world of warcraft classic today, but it got stuck in a loop and it says when it is finnished that something went wrong and then it starts the scan again. I tried deleting the idx-files, uninstall the battlenet launcher and the game but nothing works, it just start scanning the game when i launch the app. Even when i re-installed the game it automatically.

WoW Classic is just about to launch, and if you want to play without many roadblocks to your journey, you should download and install some addons. There's a whole list of them that will help you do quests, level up, raid, and more. Installing Classic addons manually The easiest way to install addons is the manual route. But there's a trick, because Twitch is packed with new addons that won't work in Classic. Be sure to search for 'classic' or 'wow classic' because the app doesn't differentiate the addons in its list. Run osx apps on windows. Once you find an addon, make sure to click into its description and double check that it'll work for the old game.

WoW Classic is just about to launch, and if you want to play without many roadblocks to your journey, you should download and install some addons. There's a whole list of them that will help you do quests, level up, raid, and more.

Installing Classic addons manually

The easiest way to install addons is the manual route. This has you downloading .ZIP files, extracting them, and tossing them into your game's install location. So download your addons of choice and get started.

  • You need to find your WoW files. The game is on your C drive by default, and location should look something like this: C:Program FilesBlizzardWorld of Warcraft_classic_.
  • Browse to the Interface folder and then the AddOns folder inside of that
  • Drag your uncompressed addon to the addon folder.

When you load up the game — when it's live of course — your addons will be there

Install addons with the Twitch client

Adobe photoshop cc sign in. But there's an easier way to do this. The Twitch client that many already use to install addons (and keep them updated) in the live game can also work for Classic. Here's how:

  • Open your Twitch application
  • Go to the Mods section, then click World of Warcraft
  • From the top right drop down menu, select the folder for WoW Classic (note that if you want to go back to retail WoW addons, you'll need to change the folder back)

Now, you can install addons directly from Twitch

But there's a trick, because Twitch is packed with new addons that won't work in Classic. Be sure to search for 'classic' or 'wow classic' because the app doesn't differentiate the addons in its list. Once you find an addon, make sure to click into its description and double check that it'll work for the old game. Hopefully, Twitch is working on a way to separate the two types of addons.

For now, the addons are a bit sparse because the game isn't properly out yet. But we have a big list of our favorite addons as well as specific ones for leveling up. Be sure to install them while now while the client is available so you can be prepared for the launch in less than two weeks!

In order to incentivize WoW Classic players to use an extra layer of security for their accounts with the Blizzard Authenticator, the developer is going to grant them four extra bag slots for doing so. Like the retail version of the game, you'll get a relatively useful upgrade to your inventory space for using the authenticator — a feature that wasn't added to the game until 2008, with a physical key fob authenticator.

The four bag slots aren't a big change to WoW Classic compared to the game it's trying to recreate, but as with several other things in the game, players get upset with modern features like this. Blizzard has largely chosen to make the game accessible and approachable when it comes to changing how things worked. The entire menu system mimics the current game and all of the items that changed over time due to patches arrived in their final forms. Here, it seems like a deliberate choice to protect the accounts of people who see no material reason to add an authenticator to their account.

The game won't bug you about adding the authenticator until you're level 20 — which is a considerable amount of time in WoW Classic. I can only assume that stolen accounts with characters higher than that with various important items can be a nightmare to restore on the customer service side of things. Or maybe it's Blizzard trying to implement this change in the least obtrusive manner.

To add an authenticator, you need an Android or iPhone. You download the app and enter in a code when prompted as you log-in. The whole thing is a big shield against getting your account stolen for minimal effort. And hey, now you get a little bit more inventory space in a game that is largely punishing about how much stuff you can pick up.

All of this will arrive in the 1.13.5 patch. The Ahn'Qiraj patch — otherwise known as phase 5 — is currently available to play on the PTR. There's a list of changes that include fixes to terrain and combat exploits in Alterac Valley, and considerable changes to threat and combat log addons.
